Objective

The objectives of this competition category are:

  • Creation of fashion design that integrates ecological and ethical principles.
  • Applicants must create an analog or digital inspiration mood board and sketches of 5 fashion illustrations related to the inspiration.
  • Originality of the design concept.
  • Clarity in presenting the idea through a mood board.
  • The skill to visually articulate ideas in 5 illustrations.
Methods To achieve the goal, the candidates will go through instructions:

  • To get acquainted with the sustainable principle of work.
  • How to make a mood board.
  • How to develop conceptual design while drawing innovative illustrations.
Evaluation criteria
  1. Stage of creation and presentation of works 70%
  2. Portfolio presentation. 30%

It will be possible to cooperate with the students who are already enrolled in the study program, as persons who are generationally closer.

How will it be realized?

Online lecture to familiarize students with the relationship between fashion design and the sustainable principle of work. To explain how design relates to environmental and ethical issues.

A lecture to explain how to make a mood board that includes images, materials and concepts that inspire ecological and ethical design. To introduce the student to the importance of narrative expression skills and explain how to articulate creative thought for this collection through written explanation. It is also an interesting idea to record a green video message.

A lecture to explain how to develop a conceptual design for a sustainable fashion piece or collection, clearly articulating sustainable elements and design innovations.

What are the evaluation criteria?

The candidate should understand the concepts of sustainable fashion and, based on that data, be able to express himself creatively while sending a specific personal message on this topic. After completing the exercises with the mentor, the candidate should be able to clearly and precisely present their ideas, provide a clear and articulate narrative that highlights the conscious choices made in the design process, including how environmental and ethical factors have been taken into account. The candidate should be able to illustrate his ideas by using different techniques of drawing and painting as well as different techniques of presenting the idea such as e.g. the collage technique.

Who should apply to this category?

Any high school student who possesses a talent for drawing, creative expression with multiple media, a creator who creates with tangible raw materials, and a desire to change things around them.

Where will the preparation for this category and the courtroom take place?

The preparation process will be realized in the premises of AUE-FON and through a virtual platform (Teams on Office365).
