Writing Essay (in Macedonian)

Objective

The objectives of this competition category:

– Registered candidates to acquire practical knowledge and skills

– Registered candidates to familiarize themselves with the conditions for study and the possibilities of the faculties that are involved in the implementation of the campaign

Description

The selection of registered candidates is carried out in two stages:

1. Phase: Essay – written expression 50%

2. Phase: Review and evaluation 50%

Essay topics Essay on one of the following topics (in Macedonian):

  • The valiant deeds of Gilgamesh and his companion Enkidu
  • Examination of the “Iliad” epic’s stylistic elements, which are thought to have been penned by Homer.
  • Understanding that an individual’s post-mortem rewards and punishments are determined by their life’s accomplishments.
  • The adventures and lives of the protagonist Don Quixote and his sidekick Sancho Panza.
  • Danish prince Hamlet’s infatuation with seeking retribution for his father’s death
  • The discord inside a wealthy and esteemed family as a result of Orgon’s reception and exaltation of the priest Tartif
  • Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage
  • Tatyana’s youthful, idealized, and unrealized love for Onegin and its maturation.
  •  Illustrating a society where money is the driving factor, which ethically degrades people and creates a world full of egotism, deceit, intrigue, cruelty, deception, and treachery.
  • More than society can do, man torments and punishes himself.
  • The life and contributions of the brothers Cyril and Methodius, Slavic educators
  • The bad human attribute of envy
  • The Macedonians’ struggle against the Gegi’s savagery.
  • The lives and sorrow of an impoverished Macedonian family compelled to send their only son to labor.
  • The biographical and social novel “Krpen Život” depicts the habits, language, and folklore of the Mariovо settlements during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
  • The library’s institutional significance.
  • How I like to read.
  • Required reading or a personal selection of a book.
  • A book that altered the way I thought about a particular subject.
  • The writer I love the most.
  • Print versus electronic books: benefits and drawbacks.

This category as an admission criterion is taken into account for all the above Faculties within the AUE FON University.

What will you get?

By signing up for this application, high school students will have the opportunity to express their knowledge, through the necessary academic skill – written expression of a chosen topic, in which they present their views and thoughts in an argumentative and consistent manner.

How will it be realized?

Applicants draft the text of the essay and submit it in written form within a previously determined term and defined duration.

What are the evaluation criteria?

Content:

  • Content of the written text appropriate to the chosen topic of the essay
  • Developing the thesis (sequence, line of argumentation, consistency)
  • Originality of ideas
  • Spelling
  • Punctuation
  • Text formatting

Grammar:

  • Correct use of grammatical categories and their indicators
  • Complexity of sentence structure
  • Coherence and cohesion of the text (connective devices and discourse markers)

Vocabulary:

  • Vocabulary (span and appropriate degree of formality)
  • Idiomaticity

Who can apply to this category?

High school students who plan to study at the faculties within the AUE FON University.

Where will the preparation for this category take place?

The students independently research the chosen topic and present their views and conclusions in the form of a written text, guided by the specified criteria as a direction for the significant components of the text.
