I’m Designing My Favourite Space

Objective

Announcing a drawing competition based on a selected topic, to promote a new study program called Design of Architectural Space within the Faculty of Design and Multimedia at AUE FON, Skopje.

It is assumed that the topic of decorating a teenage room would be of greatest interest. Through the comments during the publication of the competition results, potential students will be introduced to the study conditions and possibilities of the study program.

Description

The drawing might be made in the form of a 3D representation (perspective) or a 2D (in the form of an arrangement plan). It is acceptable if it is done on hammer paper or drawing paper, A3 format (42cm x 29.7cm) in portrait or landscape position. The technique employed for drawing the fundamental lines may include a pencil, felt-tip pen, ink, or any combination thereof.

The drawing remains confined to the fundamental lines or it may be further refined by incorporating various colors such as watercolor, pastel, wooden crayons, diluted douche, tempera, oil, and acrylic crayons. When you use paint, make sure not to completely cover up the basic lines.

Furthermore, a model related to the same subject may be created.

Note:

At a combined meeting with the contestants, the arrived drawings will be ranked and the protocols/principles for setting up the space will be discussed. The rationale behind a solution’s higher ranking will be discussed. The order of importance will be determined by how well the fundamental furniture components are arranged to form a useful composition. Application materials will expose candidates to the fundamentals of interior design through discussions on where to put a desk and bed, as well as windows, doors, and the significance of adequate lighting.
